Antrim's undyed wool receives its color by the careful hand blending of different color wool fibers to give it the beautiful natural heathered colorways. Antrim provides a wide variety of carpet weaves, patterns, colors and styles, and can make custom carpets.

Antrim Carpets does not use any chemicals of pesticides in any of our products, and its containers are not fogged previous to shipping. Antrim uses natural latex extracted from a species of the rubber tree. Area rugs that Antrim manufactures are finished on the back with a pure cotton backing, and the ends are finished with hand serging using the same wool that the face of the product is made with. On the broadloom rolls, there is a very small polypropylene scrim as the very last layer of the backing. These materials used in the products allow Antrim to offer floor covering that is 99% natural.

ADVANTAGES OF WOOL

Wool is a biodegradable natural fiber and one of the most environmentally forgiving flooring products. It is a renewable fiber and therefore has less impact on the environment. Wool has a longer life cycle than other fibers resulting in a smaller environmental footprint. It is tsain-resistant and cleans better and won't soil quickly due to its natural soil resistance, making chemical stain protection treatments unnecessary. Wool is a non-allergenic fiber and does not promote the growth of bacteria and dust mites, or give off harmful emissions. Wool fibers absorb and neutralize polluting gases such as formaldehyde, sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxides.

The people at Buffelen Woodworking have been making doors to fit any opening since 1913 at their plant in Tacoma, Washington. The company creates one-off custom doors or a complete run of doors for a new development. The pictures below show a smal fraction of what's available.

All Buffelen doors are hand assembled, sanded and finished to ensure that every door leaving the plant fully represents the standard of quality that has been established throughout its nearly 100-year history. Most products can be delivered in weeks.

Buffelen’s modern tooling and equipment allows them to build seven different profiles simultaneously. They have 14 different wood species on-site at all times, 22 styles of tempered glass, and dozens of millwork profiles. Please stop by the Leading Force showroom in downtown Yakima to see some examples of Buffelen doors.

Buffelen reports that wood is the only building material that is largely energy self-sufficient in its manufacture – the only material that builds itself. By weight, wood remains our number one industrial raw material, accounting for 47 percent of consumption, but for only four percent of the total energy embodied in the manufacture of raw materials.

The Leading Force showroom in downtown Yakima has some great examples of Buffelen doors so we hope you'll stop in to see them! Check the Buffelen website for a complete catalog of doors - we can order whatever you need.
